Priority Areas for a National Hydrogen Strategy for Turkey

February 2021

The use of green hydrogen production from renewable power could be broader in the future as a pillar to reduce emissions in Turkey’s end-use sector areas that pose a specific challenge to Turkey’s energy transition such as manufacturing industry, buildings (residential, commercial and public) and transport. With green hydrogen emerging as a cross-cutting technology in multiple markets, applications of hydrogen are expanding. The report shows several priority areas for Turkey in developing a hydrogen strategy for the realization of this potential.
